Weighting adjusted to your site

The components that best anticipate your real clicks and visits from AI assistants weigh a little more, with safeguards

The principle

Each component starts from a starting share (see the article “How Kaiku calculates your SEO and GEO scores”). Every Monday, Kaiku looks, for your project only, at which components best anticipate what really happens next: your Search Console clicks for the SEO score, your visits from AI assistants (Google Analytics) for the GEO score. A component whose moves regularly come before those of your real results can gain a little weight; a component that anticipates nothing can lose some. It all happens automatically: there is nothing to set.

What never moves

  • Observed-result components keep their share: in the SEO score, Search Console trend, coverage and click-through rate; in the GEO score, exposure in Google AI summaries and visits from AI assistants.
  • The total of the other components stays the same: only their shares relative to one another change. The two scores stay separate, never combined.
  • A component not measured stays out of the calculation, as before: weighting never creates a measure.
  • Real-data reliability applies on top: in the GEO score, complete and recent real data counts more, partial or old data less (see the article “How Kaiku calculates your SEO and GEO scores”). The adjustment to your site works on the shares; the reliability of the period is added on top.

The safeguards

  • Enough history: it takes several weeks where your real results are known (rebuilt weeks count) and several components measured over time.
  • Evidence, not an impression: an adjustment is kept only if the link is clear and holds over time; otherwise nothing changes.
  • Bounds: a component never strays far from its starting share, up or down.
  • Small steps: changes are modest and several weeks apart.
  • Automatic rollback: after each change, Kaiku checks in the following weeks that the new weights still better anticipate your results; otherwise, the previous weights come back on their own.

Where to see it

Under the Home scores, the “Weighting adjusted to your site” block appears as soon as an adjustment is active: for each component whose share moved, the starting share (marker on the bar) and the current share, “tracks your clicks” or “tracks your visits” for those going up, “no clear link” for those going down, the guardrail and the date of the adjustment. In Where the score comes from, an “adjusted to your site” chip marks each component whose share differs from the start; its tooltip gives the starting share and the current share. With no line and no chip, your scores use the starting shares. The “Scores over time” curve is recomputed with the current weights, so that weeks stay comparable with one another.

Your Google data stays in your project

Search Console clicks and Google Analytics visits are used only to adjust the weights of your project, shown in your dashboard. They are never pooled with other clients' data, nor used to train an artificial intelligence model. See the article “Artificial intelligence and your data”.
